Enjoy Great Coffee,
in a friendly hangout
Good conversations, good coffee and good stories all swirl together at Muddy Mo’s Coffee House. Founded by the publishers of South Dakota Magazine to promote community.
WE SERVE THE BEST COFFEE ….
AND THAT’S JUST FOR STARTERS.
South Dakota Magazine is located just a few blocks away from Muddy Mo’s.
Its journalists created the coffee shop to serve as a brick & mortar extension
of the print magazine’s goal — fostering community in a flummoxed world.

THE KITCHEN
Our amazing staff makes and bakes all our good foods, salads and sweets in our own kitchen, just behind the big bar. Enjoy breakfast sandwiches, quiche, paninis, soups and lots of other Yankton favorites.

THE BAR
Behind our 1920s soda fountain, some of South Dakota’s finest baristas joyfully create your favorite hot and iced drinks, as well as smoothies, chai teas and seasonal specialties. Everyone comes with a smile.

ALL FOR YOU
Muddy Mo’s is for you. Our staff and regulars strive to create a friendly, safe and welcoming environment for all — no matter your background, age, politics or other persuasions. Everybody belongs at Muddy Mo’s.
Locally Sourced Foods and Coffees
Almost everything you taste at Muddy Mo’s is sourced from southeast South Dakota and northeast Nebraska — including our honey, milks, eggs, breads, bagels, jellies and more. A Yankton native brews our kumbucha. Our coffee beans are roasted in Sioux Falls and Brookings. And ask us about the quail eggs!
OUR OLD OAK DOOR
OPENS EVERY MORNING
AT 7 AM ON WEEKDAYS.
Now and then some crabapple suggests that we replace the old oak door with the finicky handle. But it was here when the building was built in 1885, so we’re a tad reluctant to exchange it now. We open it at 7 AM on weekdays, 8 AM on Saturday and 9 AM on Sunday — and if it sticks, no worries. A barista or a friendly regular will rush to help you.

Dogs Are
Welcome.
Yes, we do discriminate. No cats. No pet pigs. No talking parrots. Only dogs are allowed at Muddy Mo’s — dogs and people. We are careful to be sure that dogs do not bother the cat people, who of course are very welcome.
MUDDY MO’S BELONGS
TO THE PEOPLE OF OUR
GREAT RIVER VALLEY
We mean that. So don’t be surprised if there’s a piano recital, a poetry reading, a college softball pep rally or some other event happening when you come through the door. Everybody is welcome at everything, so you belong. And we strive not to let the special events hinder the regular atmosphere. Can anyone play Blue Moon?
