Publisher Bernie Hunhoff selected Christian Begeman's shot of pasqueflowers on a hilly prairie. He says, "The plucky state flowers have survived 2,4-D, intensive grazing and the plow. Obviously they are not as delicate as they appear."

Managing Editor and Lake Norden native John Andrews selected Dean Pearson's photograph of snow geese packed onto Lake Madison. "It brings back memories of springtime in the Glacial Lakes," he said. Subscription Department Director Jana Lane also chose it. "Every year at this time the geese are flying overhead and thousands are gathered in fields. It’s a welcome sign of spring."
