The South Dakota Discovery Center and Aquarium in Pierre provides interactive exhibits and science activities that are fun for the whole family. Their goal is to create curiosity in children, inspire teachers and motivate everyone to seek scientific knowledge and value a healthy environment.

There are more than 60 exhibits that demonstrate the principles of electricity, magnetism, life sciences and physics. -
The Center also features an aquarium filled with fish species native to the Missouri River that runs through Pierre. -
They offer a number of programs, including StarLab, The Story of Lewis and Clark, and Watershed Investigation. -
There are also traveling programs for teachers and 4-H and Scout Leaders. -
You can even get assistance from the Discovery Center with developing and hosting educational events in your own community. -
This past Saturday was Engineer's Day, with free admission courtesy of the South Dakota Engineering Society Central Chapter. -
