Sioux Falls entrepreneur Duane Ertz bought The Pomp Room today in 1971. Ertz quickly turned the club into a headquarters for rock 'n' roll. The Pomp became the place to see local bands and major touring acts like Metallica and Aerosmith, who stormed the club for a 45-minute encore after playing the Sioux Falls Arena. The legendary club closed in 1998.
