Pasque Flowers Spring 2011
May 16, 2011
Reader Terry Jordre of Aberdeen sent us these photos of our state flower.
-
-
Terry and his wife Geri took these photos this spring in McPherson county, a few miles southwest of Leola.
-
"We find them growing in the pasture - land that has not been broken up or farmed for crops," Terry said.
-
"Our spring ritual is to get out and photograph the pasque flowers," Terry said. "We enjoy hunting for the best photo opportunities."
-
"This year they were very numerous as we could see them from the road."
-
"It is a sure sign of spring to be able to enjoy the beauty of our state flower, the pasque flower," said Terry.
